On Tuesday, we sailed to the island of Kimolos, an off-the-beaten-path
island.
There is so much
natural beauty at each and every island.
We loved the sugar-cube houses and bright colors; walking around is so
much fun.
We rode a bus to the village of Chora, & met
up with Dan & Michelle.
Chora is a quaint village with
winding paved foot paths.
This village was special in that it is a non-tourist fishing village
and it had a terrific bakery!
Once we got our bearings (to the bakery) it was easy to get
around. Dan had a rental car and drove
us down the hill to a local taverna for a fun tradional dining
experience.
This restaurant
was really local and the server (who also did the cooking) didn't speak
English.
The
food was good, but the wine left a little to be desired; there was only
one type of white wine so we ordered it, and it
turned out to be the infamous retsina, a wine with pine resin.
Not to our likings and it went over the ledge (subtly).
On the way to the next island, Kostas was kind enough to anchor at a
fun swimming spot.
Most of us swam through the cavern in the crystal clear water; Clada
did a couple of laps. This website is for the
