On Saturday morning we checked into the Sofitel Hotel at the Athens
airport since we didn't fly
home until Sunday morning. Afterwards we took the metro to
Syntagma Square to the Plaka.
Our mission: eat 5 donar kebabs (i.e. gyros) and shop.
We wanted a
doner kebab before we left Greece, and in Rod's honor, Chip and Eric
said they were going to eat FIVE!
So during the afternoon and evening, as we
strolled the streets, we would stop for a Doner & Beer break every
2 hours...
Eric took pictures with his Iphone and sent them to Rod and
Jolene...too bad they didn't stay longer!
We sat down at three restaurants before Clada found one that had her
Greek favorite, Pastichio.
It was after 10 pm before we decided to taxi back to the hotel.
We flew out at 7 am the next morning.
What a great way to end our vacation...
Did we mention how much we loved Greek cuisine????
