Gary and Cathy hosted the high school grads, Parker, Sam & Kaitlyn,
for a delicious wood-burning pizza party.
Cathy makes the best rum
punches!
Lots of snacks for munching while pizza cooks.
Gary uses modern technology to heat the damp
wood up faster.
We had unusal weather for June; the wind came from the south for
weeks so our wind died, and because we had 18 inches
of rain in May, we had lots of
mosquitos. Cathy armed the guys with bug rackets to see who could
zap the pests.
Kaitlyn brought their dog, Taper, with her so he could join in the dog
fun.
Cathy demonstrates how to orchestrate a
pizza.
Gary and Cathy make a great team!
They also have two
land turtles which fascinate Zuni.
Chip is now well-trained in heating the oven and baking pizzas.
The fellas chow down on Sam's meaty pizza.
Kaitlyn makes her first pizza.
We had all kinds of pizza...they were so good!
The fellas made a "to go" pizza for the Man Cave.
There is a funny story behind this pizza...the fellas didn't
finish the pizza right away the next day, so Chip finished it for them.
Parker thought he would have a late night snack one night and
discovered Chip, a fan of cold pizza, had scarfed up the leftovers.
Needless to say...Parker was a littled miffed.
After pizza, it
was time to kick back and relax, and have dessert, of course. Then it
was time to jump in the pool...
Gary heated up the oven to cook a brisket
overnight.
Clean-up went pretty well...order was almost restored.
Here's a picture of Gary & Cathy's house at the Salt
River.
Chip found some good hardwood for Gary to
burn
