The third stop on our summer vacation was Saint Louis to visit
Keith, Marci, and Mom, who flew in from
Fayetteville.
Keith bought us tickets to the Cardinals game which was played at
night. Unfortunately, there was a 2-hour rain delay, so we
got to know the new stadium really well. Mom & Marci
drove their scooters all around, while we walked the loop several times.
The game was zero-zero in the 9th inning, but we stayed to watched the
Cardinals finally win the game after midnight.
We persuaded Keith to make some of his famous ribs in his
Weber smoker.
Before....
After....
Keith took us flying in the plane that he has an interest in.
We flew around St Louis and we could see where the rivers had flooded
some of the area.
We also stopped at a small airport that had antique planes.
Despite the 100 degree weather, Keith, Chip and I went to the St Louis
Zoo and watch bear feeding.
There were several new exhibits at the zoo.
The hippos would
swim up against the glass tank, so we had good shots of them.
They are graceful swimmers.
We had fun hanging pictures for Marci, a dreaded task normally, but
made fun with all of us participating.
Marci and
Keith, thanks for hosting us...it was great to finally see your house
and the "old neighborhood". This
