We had to survey again.
Chip got a 1960's transit that
is in perfect condition! Every
engineer needs one....
especially when you're the general contractor on a multi-level
house!
Then we needed to backfill the area behind gray water cistern
and pumproom since this area will be less accessible as the house goes
up.
While we were waiting for concrete, we got a load of fill and the
builder's team sifted it and backfilled the septic tank.
While we were waiting for concrete again, we got another two loads--but
note the difference between the piles--the truck delivered
regular fill (on the right), which had lots and lots of rocks and junk
we had to remove (BY HAND). None of us want to do that again!
But, the supplier is going to make it right
and send us another load of the good stuff.
Joseph preps the fill and compacts it with a rented Jumping Jack
Clada helps out...while Joseph is off site...
After we get the septic tank partially buried so we can use it for
water while we're building,
Joseph and his team add a couple of rows of block so we can continute
burying the tank
