                                 Recent Adventures - January 2011

Clada couldn't find Chip a used 4-wheel drive Toyota truck in Florida (yup...Florida is a little flat), so she
shopped for a truck in North Carolina.  She located a well-priced truck in Winston-Salem from a private
owner, so she made the deal and bought the truck.  She ended up spending 7 weeks in the US instead of
the 2 & 1/2 weeks that was originally planned, because it took almost a month to get the title in hand so she
could drive the truck to Miami for shipping to Fayetteville.  She wasn't complaining though...she got to fly
with her Mom to spend Christmas in Austin with Kevin and his family!

Chip LOVED his new truck.  It took him about 5 minutes to learn how to use the electric back window...it makes the truck feel almost
like a convertible.  We drive with all of the windows down all the time now and Zuni loves the breezes!

Chip loves all of the fancy chrome; Clada bought Chip a kit to polish the truck so it doesn't look like our 20-year old Toyota truck.
The salt spray here is harsh; the truck doesn't fit in the garage so we are parking it on our future pool patio deck for now.

The best part about the truck is that we can finally sit four people comfortably!  The leather interior is a nice touch, too.
The truck  is a 2006 and has 104,000 miles on it, but as my brother, Kevin (my personal vehicle buying consultant),
says... the mileage if perfect for island life.  It's like a 3-year old truck on island time.

Chip installed a TracRack on his truck, so we're back in business for hauling boards and pipes again.
