Step 14 - Constructing the Generator
and Pool Pump Rooms
IN ORDER TO PROCEED WITH THE UPPER FOUNDATION,
WE FIRST HAD TO CONSTRUCT THE GENERATOR AND POOL PUMP ROOMS ON THE
LOWER LEVEL.
The footings were dug with the main level footings, then the floor was
compacted, large plumbing and electrical lines installed,
and then termite treatment applied, plastic installed and then floor
and wall steel tied. Jonus pumps
the concrete.
The pool pump room was
poured first, then the generator room (on the left).
Pouring the floor involved lots of
teamwork since the generator room and pool pump room floors are at
different heights.
Additionally, we added a drain to the pool pump room which Joseph had
to carefully slope the floor towards.
The forms were constructed and
braced.
Chip was pleased with the great
formwork!
This wasn't our best pour due to
the concrete not flowing properly through the hose,
and Clada underestimated the amount of concrete.
The fellas ended up mixing 10 bags of Quikcrete to help out.
The walls came out beautiful...
We decided to finish the generator
and pool pump rooms, so we formed the roof and tied the steel
We poured the roof when we poured
the garage roof beam This website is for the personal
